You’ll receive an email introducing your chosen Castellan Sitter, including a short bio and photo. Each sitter is carefully vetted and selected for their professionalism, dependability, and attention to detail.

4. Review Your Invoice

After your booking is confirmed, you’ll receive an invoice for the total cost of your requested services. Your invoice is transparent and easy to understand — no hidden fees or surprises.

Carly Walls, the founder of Castellan Sitters, was raised in an equestrian family and began riding at a young age. She spent her junior years working at a hunter/jumper farm in York, PA, where she developed her riding skills and went on to build a successful professional career in the equestrian world. After turning 18, Carly worked as a USEF professional, riding and teaching.

Throughout her career, Carly was frequently asked to house and farm-sit. She gained invaluable experience and built lasting relationships with her clients, who trusted her with their homes and animals. After hearing a new client's frustrations with finding a trustworthy sitter, Carly recognized the opportunity to create a solution. This led to the birth of Castellan Sitters—aiming to make the process of booking reliable sitters easy and dependable.

The role of the castellan was to protect the castle and its lands and attend to the domestic staff. The responsibility applied even where there was no residents at the castle or if they were frequently absent.
